The Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau-led National Rebuilding and Inter-Party Contacts Committee of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) yesterday met with Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa over the proposed merger of all opposition political parties in the country.
The committee met with Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and the leadership of his party, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) during a courtesy call where both parties accused the PDP for compounding Nigeria’s problems.

The former Kano State governor, Shekarau, who was also the presidential flag bearer of his party in 2011, hailed the idea of the merger and stressed its need among opposition parties. He said an early head start for the merger was ideal to surmount all challenges that go with such agreements.
